January 7, 1999
Greetings from the board members of the Northwest Association for Learning Laboratories. The three of us met at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington on November 5 with great hopes of reviving NWALL, an association dedicated to the use of technology in language learning. We are excited to make this group more active and increase our membership, so please pass this information along to any interested colleagues and feel free to contact us at any time to give us suggestions or ideas!
At the PNCFL meeting in Boise last year, NWALL members voted to hold our annual meetings during the Pacific Northwest Council for Foreign Languages (PNCFL) conference each year. This year's meeting will take place in Tacoma, Washington, during the PNCFL conference at the Sheraton Hotel April 8-9, 1999. Here is the tentative agenda for our meetings - more details will be sent in March:
In order to attend the NWALL meetings, you need to have current membership in both NWALL and PNCFL, and you need to have paid for the NWALL and PNCFL conference registrations. The following membership and registration forms will be available from our website at http://www.plu.edu/~lrc/nwall:
In March, after we receive feedback from you through the attached interest survey, we will send you an agenda for the business meeting and the technology workshop. If you would like to contribute items to the agenda for the business meeting or ideas for the round-table discussion, please contact us by phone or email. Also, please check our website for the most current information. (http://www.plu.edu/~lrc/nwall)
We look forward to seeing you in Tacoma this April!
Sincerely,
Bridget E. Yaden, Vice-President
Paul Aoki, Co-President
