About Walter Mondale

Walter Mondale

Former Vice President Walter F. Mondale presented his address, “The Changing World Conversation,” on Friday, Feb. 23, 2007 at PLU as part of World Conversations: Voices from Around the Globe. The event was put on by the Wang Center for International Programs to recognize the substantial scholarship of PLU students and faculty as they annually span the globe to study, and to celebrate the center’s fifth anniversary.

Mondale served under Jimmy Carter as 42nd Vice President of the United States from 1977 to 1981. He was also a two-term U. S. Senator from Minnesota. From 1993 to 1997 he was ambassador to Japan, and currently practices international and corporate law with Dorsey & Whitney in Minneapolis, Minn.  Mondale serves on a number of non-profit and corporate boards.
