Why Nursing?In each and every nursing class I have been asked the same question: "Why nursing?". Each time I reply and I find that I refine my answer a little more. My answer is simply that advance practice nursing is a perfect fit. I have attended school for many years and only after I received my first two undergraduate degrees did I decide to pursue nursing. I cannot think of a better profession to get into in order to truly care for people and I believe my previous schooling provides a solid base to build my nursing education upon. My Future in Nursing When I entered this program I had decided I wanted to become a family nurse practitioner and since that time my desires have not changed. I am enthusiastic about providing primary care in a community setting to people of all cultural backgrounds and ages. I feel that in this setting I will be able to provide the best care possible because I can incorporate health promotion and disease prevention in my every day practice. |
