To incorporate ethical decision-making into professional practice  

As we come into the nursing profession it is of utmost importance to be ethical in our everyday practice and when providing care  to recognize our own values and morals while respecting those of others.

Coursework

Nursing 220

In this course we explored the role of the nurse and the ethical decision making process in caring for the elderly population.  We learned how to care properly for clients particularly in long-term care facilities.  We also discussed ethical issues related to death and dying. 

Nursing 260

Throughout this course we frequently discussed the role of the nurse and providing ethical care.  We also had the opportunity to open up class for discussion in order to better understand certain ethical principles that arise in everyday practice. 

Ethics in the Future

I look forward to continually learning about and applying ethical decisions in my nursing career.  I also hope to gain a greater understanding of the profundity of ethics in the medical professions.
