MAV Meetings

Fridays at 4pm. Come have coffee and join in a discussion about men's role in ending other men's violence against women, growing up male, and a number of other topics. Have an idea for a discussion topic?... bring it with you and we'll discuss it as a group! Meetings are held each week. Click here or email MAV for more!

PLU White Ribbon Campaign

Starting November 25th, MAV sponsors the PLU WRC for a week - during which we ask the PLU community to sign pledge cards and wear a white ribbon. By signing a card participants pledge never to condone, commit or remain silent about Men's Violence Against Women. By wearing a ribbon we all remember the tragic death and suffering of women at the hands of fellow men throughout the world. Click on the image link to learn more!

Take Back the Night!

Each spring semester there is a rally to reclaim the campus and community as a place that is safe for the women among us. Activities include a time for survivors to share their stories in Speak Outs, and a march around campus. Please encourage your male friends to come be supporters of this event. Walk a Mile In Her Shoes fundraiser

Every April the Sexual Assault Center of Pierce Co holds this fundraiser. Men wear high heels and walk a mile to raise awareness, money and show that men do care about ending sexual assault. Here are pictures from previous walks... let us know if you want to join in!

Vagina Monologues

Each February the vagina Monologues speak the stories of women and their experiences. Check out pictures from last year's PLU V-Day. Learn more here.

MAV Film Series

Each semester MAV has a film series in which we examine the messages we get in popular culture about men's violence against women, manhood, and a variety of other issues. Past films have included, but aren't limited to: "Tough Guise", "Fight Club", "North Country", "Saving Private Ryan", "Good Will Hunting", and many others! Click here to check out previous films!

Community Service

The group spends time giving back to the community and showing our commitment to creating a safer place for all of us. If you'd like to take part or to suggest a place to volunteer let us know!
