Balsa Wood Bridge Contest (Grades 9-12)

Implement engineering concepts in the design and construction of a model balsa wood bridge from a plan while using as little wood as possible, and to develop  neatness, craftsmanship and creativity.

Brain Power (Grades 6-12)

Build a 3 dimensional model of a bisected head and answer related questions.

Catapult (Grades 4-12)

Students will build a catapult to launch a cotton ball the furthest distance.

Craft Stick Bridges (Grades 4-8)

Implement engineering concepts in the design and construction of a model bridge while using as few craft sticks as possible.

Egg Drop Contest (Grades 4-12)

Design and build a container of restricted size with specified materials to protect an egg dropped from increasing heights.

Middle School Math (Grades 6-8)

Measure competency in mathematical concepts that relate to the students' current math course.

Multi-Task Trebuchet (Grades 4-12) - (National Competition: Grades 6-12)

Build a single trebuchet designed to launch a projectile as far as possible, land projectiles within two ground targets, and have the lowest ratio of score to device weight.

Prepared Speech Contest (Grades 4-12)

Organize and present thoughts orally with preparation from selected topics.

Sail Car Contest (Grades 4-12)

Design and construct a car that travels the farthest distance with a sail that is powered by a standard 10-inch stationary fan.

Simulated SAT Math (Grades 9-12)

Test measuring competency in mathematical concepts.

Simulated SAT Verbal (Grades 9-12)

Test measuring competency in reading comprehension, analogies and sentence completion.

Straw Tower Contest (Grades 4-12)

Build the tallest free-standing tower possible from drinking straws and masking tape.
