Welcome and Overview

Welcome to the MESA Day 2008 home page!  Last year Tacoma Mesa was happy to invite 350 students, along with another 100 teachers, volunteers, and parents, to compete in various math, science, and engineering contests at Pacific Lutheran University’s Morken Center for Learning and Technology. This year Tacoma MESA is again expecting another exciting day of learning and discovery at PLU’s Morken Center on Tuesday, March 25, 2008.

What Exactly is MESA Day?

MESA Day is an active learning event, where teams of students from all ages prepare for a variety of events, including active listening, mock SAT tests, and medieval trebuchets, and then test their skills alongside their fellow classmates.  In addition to promoting the study of math, science, and engineering, MESA also requires teams to reflect on the diversity and culture of the real world.
