NURSING OUTCOME
Collaborate in the design, management, and coordination of care.

Putting it in to practice!
» Thus far in the program, I have only been able to experience patients in Long-term care. While working at the facility, I am convinced that not only was I there to learn, I was there to help. Before each "shift" I was to coordinate with the assigned CNA to let them know I was there to help them with the residents. In the beginning I followed their lead, assisting them with the clients' daily routines. Eventually, after I had grown accustomed to each resident and their typical morning, I stood more in the foreground for the care.
» By cooperating with the CNA rather than simply going about what I needed to do, the resident was ensured to receive the care they needed, efficiently, timely, and no task was forgotten nor was any task performed multiple times. Also, at the end of each "shift", we were to report to the CNA and to the Charge Nurse on our station so they knew we would be leaving and that they were now back as the primary care givers.
Looking to the future
» Again, in future clinical rotations, I will be able to collaborate with the CNAs and nurses in many different settings to provide care to patients.
