NURSING OUTCOME
Participate in processes that influence the health care delivery system.
Time for a CHANGE...
 What can I do?
» In March, 2008, I decided to join NSNA.
The NSNA "mentors the professional development of future nurses and facilitates their entrance into the profession by providing educational resources, leadership opportunities, and career guidance." - As a member, I will be able to participate in the organization's mission.
» Classes in Sophomore II provided me with the opportunity to challenge my ability to make a difference. - N260: Our class, as student groups, researched pressing issue in health care today. Our group chose to study the topic of condom distribution in high school sexual education classes. Being well informed on this topic allows me to see both sides of the issue and make informed decisions regarding the topic in the future. (Please see Issues Paper link.)
- N270: As a small group we performed a teaching project in a local middle school. We addressed the topic of childhood obesity, a Healthy People 2010 goal. We worked with the students, teaching them about the importance of proper diet and activity and exercise to reduce the effects of obesity, both short-term and long-term. (Please see Teaching Project (N270) link.)
