
Haley, a Business major with an emphasis in Marketing, was invited to join MediaLab in Fall 2011. During Fall 2012, Haley will work with PLU’s Athletic Department as a marketing intern, a position in which she will help develop promotional material to increase event attendance and build a fan base both online and offline. Haley’s particular interests include advertising, market research, public relations and event planning. She plans to pursue a career in marketing and after graduation from PLU, eventually wants to attend graduate school to earn an MBA.

Alex is pursuing a degree in Business with a concentration in Marketing. Before his Fall 2011 acceptance into MediaLab, Alex served as a web design intern at Essential Web Media LLC, a web development company in Spokane, Wash. directed toward the travel industry and other areas of content development and marketing. Alex plans to pursue a career in Marketing.

Cassady, a Psychology minor and a Communication major with an emphasis in Public Relations, was accepted into MediaLab in Spring 2012. Cassady’s primary interests and strengths involve writing for mass communication. As a MediaLab member, Cassady intends to explore public relations and the visual arts among other pursuits. An internship since Fall 2011 in PLU’s Office of Admissions has confirmed Cassady’s desire to work with people and increased her ambition to work in the Communication industry.

In Fall 2012, KJ, a Communication major with a concentration in Public Relations and Advertising, will enter her final year at PLU. Kj was invited to join MediaLab in Spring 2012. Her interests include art, event planning and public relations. After college, she hopes to work at a small event planning firm that serves both for–profit and non–profit organizations.

Kortney is a double major in Women and Gender Studies and Communication with a concentration in Public Relations and Advertising. She is interested in all aspects of PR, specifically event planning and working with non–profit organizations. She begins her second year in MediaLab in Fall 2012. Kortney interned during Summer 2011 for the Tacoma Regional Convention and Visitor Bureau, where she helped the marketing department renovate its website and plan networking events. Through MediaLab, Kortney has worked for clients such as the Korean Women's Association and the national debate society, Pi Kappa Delta. Kortney ultimately hopes to work for a non–profit organization such as an advocacy group that focuses on women’s issues.

A Communication major with an emphasis in Public Relations and Advertising, Emilie was accepted into MediaLab in Spring 2012. Emilie serves as a residence hall council member at PLU and is president of Socrates Café, a philosophy club on campus. Emilie also serves as a tour guide for prospective students through PLU’s Office of Admissions. Emilie loves working with different aspects of media and looks forward to pursuing a career in public relations.
