Campus Master Plan

Campus Master Plan

The Campus Master Plan is meant to support intellectual and creative growth of individuals, strengthen our community and encourage stewardship through healthy living, preservation of our history and promote sustainable practices that encourage efficiency in our use of resources.

The university completed a three year needs analysis and assessment of university facilities as they relate to our long-range programming goals outlined in PLU 2010. The analysis was synthesized into a campus master plan that sets priorities for renovation, new building, and renewal for the next 15-20 years.

The Master Plan Steering Committee, headed by Vice President of Finance and Operations, Sheri Tonn, consists of thirteen members representing different constituencies among the administration, faculty, staff and students.

Even beyond the representatives on the Steering Committee, the campus community was greatly involved in the creation of the Master Plan. Every department on campus was consulted, and numerous campus discussions and forums were held. For more information about campus opinions, please see below.

If you have any comments or suggestions about campus priorities, concerns and issues, please feel free to email us at fiop@plu.edu.

1997 PLU Framework Master Plan

The 1997 PLU Framework Master Plan includes a critique of the present condition of the campus, and is intended to guide and relate individual actions to larger concepts. The Framework Plan should be updated periodically but should not be changed, since it reflects and advances qualities that remain fundamental to PLU.

The 1997 Captial Improvements Plan provided a specific set of proposed projects on the PLU campus. In 2004, the university began a new master plan process which should be completed this year. It will replace the 1997 version. Please see above to view drafts of this new campus master plan.
