The Bachelor of Arts in Recreation (BARec) degree program is designed to prepare students for professional leadership positions within a wide variety of recreation and sport settings, including public park and recreation agencies (federal, state, county and municipal); non-profit organizations, including youth serving agencies; commercial for-profit facilities and agencies; churches and religious-affiliated agencies, and outdoor/ adventure organizations. The degree has been designed to encourage students to complete one or more minors that will complement their areas of interest, in addition to their major studies.

- Students must have a current First Aid and CPR certificate before beginning their internship. Candidates for the BA Recreation (BARec) degree must meet the College of Arts and Sciences foreign language requirement (8 semester hours).
