Pacific Lutheran University presents more than 150 concerts every year featuring students, faculty artists and exciting guest performers in an incredible array of musical styles and media. All music concerts are held in Lagerquist Concert Hall, Mary Baker Russell Music Center at 8:00 pm unless otherwise noted.
Tickets: $8 General Admission, $5 Senior Citizens (55+), $3 Alumni, Complimentary 18 and under unless otherwise noted. All Ticket Sales Are Final - No Refunds or Exchanges.

Norwegian pianist presenting the history of Norwegian music from 1900-1950 written by such composers as Grieg, Monrad Johansen, Sæverud Sinding, Harum and Geirr Tvett.

A Tribute to Felix Mendelssohn
In celebration of Mendelssohn's 200th birthday, students and friends of PLU vocal instructor, Janeanne Houston, will perform songs and share information about the composer. Sheila Bristow, pianist, organist and musical director of PLU's Opera Workshop, will perform an organ work by Mendelssohn.

Collaborative Artist / East West Performing Group
Program of multi-pianist pieces including Blue Danube, tunes from Bizet's Carmen and some Asian gems. Featured pianists include Regina Yeh (Chair of PLU Piano Studies), Erin Chung (PLU faculty member), and guest artists Nancy Jang, Tien-Yin Chen, Mari Corpuz, Siu-Yin Mak, and Jeongwon Hyun.

Ms. Gorham and Ms. Grinsteiner will perform a program of American composers including Aaron Copland's "Twelve Poems of Emily Dickinson" and songs by Leonard Bernstein with the Shaw Road Elementary Choir."

Europa Chamber Music Ensemble
EUROPA specializes in chamber music from Western and Eastern Europe including Russia and is based in Seattle. Its members include: Violinist Leonid Keylin, Seattle Symphony member and concertmaster of numerous New York based ensembles, trained in St. Petersburg, Russia and the Juilliard School; Cellist Mara Finkelstein, principal cellist with the Northwest Sinfonietta, trained at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory, Moscow, Russia; Pianist Jane Harty, Director of Music Northwest and long-time PLU faculty member; trained at L'Ecole Normale de Musique, Paris, France and the University of Southern California. Repertoire will include: Sonata in F Minor for Violin and Piano by Sergei Prokofiev Piano Trio in E Minor by Antonin Dvorak and more to be announced.

Composers of the Great American Songbook
David Deacon-Joyner, pianist and Director of Jazz Studies at PLU, is kicking off an annual Valentine's Day concert event, "Composers of the Great American Songbook". Joined by PLU jazz faculty and special guest artists, Dr. Deacon-Joyner will feature the music of two songwriters each year, familiar writers such as Cole Porter and George Gerswhin, and less famous but no less notable songwriters such as Ray Noble and Johnny Mandel. Join David Deacon-Joyner and friends for the evening of romantic, swinging, and timeless songs from the Golden Age of the American popular song.

Hillary Herndon is Professor of Viola from the University of Tennessee and Regina Yeh, Chair of Piano Studies at PLU. This performance features Brahm's Sonata for Viola and Piano along with unaccompanied pieces performed by both Dr. Herndon and Dr. Yeh.
