What do other schools do with leadership?

Florida State: Leadership skills include

bulletDecision-Making
bulletDirecting Others
bulletInitiative
bulletPersuading
bulletPerforming/Presenting
bulletTraining
bulletConfronting
bulletNegotiating

Penn State: Penn State does not identify leadership as a separate item; however they include attributes that are part of leadership: interpersonal skills, appreciation of diversity, teamwork, technical skills, communication skills, real-world' experience, and self-sufficiency.

Peter Drucker's "Leadership: More Doing Than Dash" [WSJ, 1/6/88] is worth a read for those interested in serious thinking about leadership. [.pdf format] Here's a teaser: "Effective leadership doesn't depend on charisma. Eisenhower, George Marshall and Truman were singularly effective leaders yet none possessed any more charisma than a dead mackerel."
