Details to be announced
Here are the criteria for evaluating systems diagrams.
| Letter Grade |
Description of relevant criteria |
| A |
Flowcharts and diagrams are extremely well
organized, correct shape symbols are used throughout. The level of
detail corresponds to the level of detail in the problem or case.
Formatting (i.e., size of symbols, width of lines, font, etc.) are
appropriate to the context. Printing and organization present a
professional appearance. All flows, documents, and processes are
included and are correct. All connectors (on or off page) are
clearly marked and linked. |
| B |
Flowcharts and diagrams are well organized;
organizational problems and the level of detail do not detract
significantly from comprehension of the analysis. Correct shape
symbols are used throughout. Formatting is essentially appropriate
in all but a few instances. Printing and graphics present a
favorable appearance. Most flows, documents, and processes are
included. Omissions or errors are noticeable, but do not represent a
major proportion of the total process. All connectors (on or off
page) are clearly marked and linked. |
| C |
Organizational matters and the level of
detail begin to detract from the reader’s comprehension of the
analysis but do not completely preclude reader understanding.
Formatting may be inconsistent and/or inappropriate to the context.
There may be limited errors in shape symbol usage. Printing problems
may impair comprehension. Significant omissions and errors of flows,
symbols, processes, or other elements make interpretation of the
diagram difficult. On or off page connectors may be missing,
incorrectly linked, or lack follow through. |
| D |
Flowcharts and diagrams are poorly organized.
An inappropriate level of detail [typically too general]
significantly impairs reader comprehension of the analysis. Symbols,
processes, steps, flows or other elements are omitted or are
incorrectly drawn. Formatting may be+ haphazard. Incorrect shape
symbols, errors and/or omissions of processes significantly impair
comprehension. Printing may be poorly organized. Missing connectors
makes it difficult to link pages (or sections of pages). |
| E |
Flowcharts and/or diagrams suggest that
either general flowcharting skills are weak or that the student did
not understand the scope or depth of the analysis required. Printing
and/or formatting problems create and unprofessional appearance.
Major omissions or errors in flows indicate a lack of understanding
of the process(es) being analyzed or a lack of understanding of the
procedure required to create a systems diagram from the written
text. |
