My name is Sheila Olson and I am currently a sophomore II in the nursing program at PLU. I am 22 and was born in Moses Lake Washington. That is where I grew up and graduated from Moses Lake High School. Right out of high school I attended University of Washington, where I was pursuing a degree in Biology, and was planning to go to medical school. However, during my time there, I was also volunteering at Children's Hospital in the Emergency Department. While there, I noticed that mainly it was the nurses that were interacting and helping the patients. That was the original reason of why I wanted to become a Doctor. So, after 2 years of being pre-med, I switched to pursue nursing because I feel it is a far better fit for me. I finished up my pre-requisites at UW and was accepted into the nursing program at PLU in Summer 2006 and started the program in Spring quarter 2007.
