The 60-foot Anderson Clock
Tower displayed the time to students outside the University Center for more
than 25 years, before the damaged and aging structure was remodeled in 1998. Repairs began in May of 1998 and were
completed Sept. 1, 1998. More than
$46,000 was generously donated by Herman '31 and Vivian Anderson for the
remodeling, who also funded the original tower in 1970.
The new clock tower is 60 feet tall, made of Alaskan yellow cedar and features new cedar bench-work around a reconditioned concrete base. In addition, there is new lighting to illuminate the clocks.
