Grades: Who and When?

Grades: Who and When? Students can review their grades at anytime or print an unofficial transcript via their Banner Web account. The link to Banner Web is off the PLU home page. Faculty enter grades on-line and all grades for the Fall Semester are due no later than noon on Friday, December 21. If a grade isn't posted a student should, contact the faculty member first to see if he/she has submitted the grade.

One of the most common questions from parents for the Registrar's office is, "How can I see my student's grades?" Under the federal Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), which governs all university records including grades, third parties do not have access to student grades. Generally, parents are defined as third parties by this law, so PLU does not provide a copy of a student's grades to parents. The sharing of grades and other academic information between parents and students is a family matter and we encourage you to talk with your student about their grades, their classes and their future goals - the best way to find information is to ask your student. Grades are accessible on-line through the student's Banner Web account (the link is off the PLU home page).
