Happy 2009! We hope you had a wonderful holiday that hopefully included welcoming home your Lute to spend some great time celebrating the season. It is hard to believe it has already been about a month since Christmas because thoughts of the end of fall semester are still fresh in our minds.
The semester came to a close quickly and was accompanied by a blast of snow. Parkland was blanketed by a heavy covering of snow that served as a great distraction from studying for finals. However, it did help to ring in the holiday season and prepare us to head home for some wonderful time with family and friends.
We both were lucky enough to escape Sea-Tac airport amidst hundreds of flight delays caused by the weather. The great anticipation of the holiday season really focused, for us, on the people we were blessed to spend our time with while at our respective homes. While presents are always exciting, on our last undergraduate holiday vacations, we cherished every moment we were able to spend with our families.
We returned to PLU for J-term and headed our separate ways as Andy left to spend J-term in South Africa while I will remain on campus. There has been a slower pace on campus during January that allows for extra time to enjoy on-campus events.
