Academic Assistance Center Offers Excellent Services

The Academic Assistance Center (AAC) at PLU is the university’s student peer tutoring program. Students at all ability levels can benefit from meeting with these tutors who are recommended and approved by faculty, screened carefully for interpersonal skills, and trained according to College Reading & Learning Association (CRLA) guidelines. The goal of any tutoring session is to help the student become a more confident and independent learner. Tutors guide students toward understanding, provide strategies for learning and memory, and can sometimes offer an inside-track view of a particular class or a professor’s style.

We offer the following free services:

  • Half-hour, one-on-one appointments
  • Individual and group study strategy sessions
  • Test-review sessions
  • Weekly foreign language conversation tables
  • Open labs for walk-in tutoring in math and sciences
  • Supplemental Instruction for first-semester introductory Biology and Organic Chemistry
  • Free blank flashcards
  • Handouts

We are located in the Library, room 124 and would love to help your student!

To make an appointment, students can come into our office or call 253-535-7518

Tutor schedules and offerings are available on our website
