Fall Semester Residential Life Housing Information
End of Semester Opening and Closing Dates & Winter Break Housing

Winter Break ~ Friday, December 19th - Sunday, January 4th The traditional halls (all halls but South Hall) will close @ 6:00 p.m., Friday, December 19th and reopen @ 1:00 p.m., Sunday, January 4th. South Hall remains open for the Winter Break at no additional cost to current South Hall residents remaining in South Hall for J-Term and/or Spring semester.

Students needing to stay on campus during the Winter Break can do so, but will need to move to the designated Winter Break Halls. Winter Break Housing is available at $15.00 per day. Prior sign-up is required. Students can sign-up beginning Monday, November 17th at The Housing Sign-Up and Cancellation Process. The deadline to sign-up is Friday, December 5th. Students who apply for Holiday Housing will receive confirmation on December 9th. Campus Safety Officers working over break do not need to sign-up for winter break housing; Campus Safety will notify Residential Life.

J-Term / Spring Housing Information
(cancel, changes, etc.)


Students wishing to apply to change their living arrangements for J-Term and Spring Semester 2009 should come to the Housing Sign-Up and Cancellation Process. This includes students who want to apply for a single room, live in South Hall, switch rooms (i.e. roommate is leaving, filling a vacancy in a room, etc.), live on-campus, or cancel their housing. Students who do not wish to change housing arrangements do not need to come.

Housing Sign-Up and Cancellation Process
Monday, November 17th ~ 4:00 - 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 18th ~ 11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 19th ~ 7:30 - 8:30 a.m., 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., 3:00 - 5:00 p.m.

Students wishing to cancel their housing should do so before December 1, 2008 in order to avoid the Housing Cancellation Penalty. These cancellations must be submitted in writing. Canceling housing also cancels one's meal plan.

Students who need to cancel their housing and meals are those who:

1.  Graduating and not living-on campus for J-Term and/or Spring

2.  Studying Away for Spring semester

3.  Absent for J-Term (this includes those on Studying Away)

4.  Withdrawing from PLU

5.  Moving off-campus and continuing as a PLU student must be eligible per the University's Residency Requirement

Cancellation Penalty Schedule
Cancellations received prior to December 1st -- No Cancellation Penalty
Cancellations received between December 1st and January 1st -- $200 Cancellation Penalty
Cancellations received after January 1st -- $400 Cancellation Penalty
