Getting Ready for Summer
The end of the academic year is a busy time for everyone and Residential Life is no exception. Students are wrapping up the year and preparing to move home. The Residential Life Staff is here to help make this a smooth transition for everyone. Below is important information we encourage you to share with your student!
Depending if they live in a
traditional hall or in
South Hall/Kreidler, the procedure will be different, so encourage your student to make sure to consult the
website.
A few things everyone should keep in mind:
- The traditional residence halls will close for the summer at 6pm on Friday, May 28.
- South Hall will close at 6pm on Tuesday, June 1.
- Remove all personal belongings from the room.
- Return the beds to “Freshmen Formation” (refer to diagrams posted in the halls for an example).
- Make sure all university issued furnishings are in the room.
- Thoroughly clean the room.
Important dates for the rest of the semester:
- April 1--$200 Cancellation Penalty for South Hall Fall Assignments
- April 2--Good Friday university offices closed
- April 4--Easter
- April 5--Desks open at 9 am/Classes resume at 11:15am
- April 13-15--Traditional Hall Housing Sign Up Process (CK West)
- April 18--Foss F-Games
- May 2--$400 Cancellation Penalty for South Hall Fall Assignments
- May 2--Stuen BBQ
- May 24-28--Finals Week
- May 28--Res Halls close at 6pm
- May 29--Graduation
- June 1--$200 Cancellation Penalty for Traditional Halls Fall assignments
- June 1--South Hall residents must move out by 6pm
- July 1--$400 Cancellation Penalty for Traditional Halls Fall assignments
And finally, if your student is studying at PLU over the summer, it is not too soon to make housing arrangements. Summer housing will be available to PLU students in one of our traditional residence halls with the option of a Double room (with a roommate) or a Single-Double room (no roommate). See

Residents will be required to relocate to their designated summer housing hall(s) on Sunday, May 30. The deadline for registering for summer housing is Monday, May 10. Students who apply will receive their summer housing assignment the week of May 17.
