Whether this is your first or your last year as a PLU parent, we want to welcome you to Fall 2008 at PLU! We hope you've had a fun-filled summer, and we have managed to fit in some time for relaxation as well. Campus is buzzing with excitement for the arrival of your students! Next Thursday, September 4th, we will welcome all new students to campus for a weekend of Orientation before classes start on Monday, September 8th. Many returning students will help during this weekend, guiding new students through Orientation. We are happy to have these student leaders and our athletes back on campus and in preparation for the upcoming year of activities! Throughout the year, Parent eNews will be delivered to your inbox monthly, making sure to keep you connected to the university! We encourage you to visit the parent doorway of the PLU website as well. This website contains an archive of past Parent eNewsletters, a copy of the Parent Handbook, an Event Calendar and much more! The following are two events in the Fall for you to mark on your calendar; they are great opportunities to visit your student and experience campus life at PLU!
Homecoming
2008!
Monday, October 6th, festivities will commence in honor of Homecoming 2008: Get
in the Game! Homecoming is a great time for students to
build memories and make connections, so please encourage them to participate
and enjoy all the festivities during this fun-filled week. Campus will be busy with student activity
and alumni who have come home to their alma mater all in celebration of Lute
Pride! If you live in the area, put on
Lute colors and stop by the Constituent Relations tent at the Homecoming Game
where the Lutes will take on Gustavus Adolphus College! For more information or
details about Homecoming 2008: Get in the Game, view the full schedule.
Looking forward to Family Weekend
2008!
To those of you who were able to join us for Family Weekend 2007, it was wonderful to see you all!
We had a fantastic time and we hope you did too! Whether your family’s favorite
part of the weekend was filling their stomachs at the Lute Brunch, loading into
buses before setting off for Destination Northwest or voting for their
favorite act at the Variety Show, we hope you all enjoyed your trip to PLU! This
year’s Family Weekend 2008 is October 31st- November 2nd, it’s never too early
to save the dates!
