Relay for Life
Along with the American Cancer Society, PLU will once again host Relay for Life, an incredible event full of live music, games, speakers, and walking to honor cancer survivors, remember those that were lost to cancer and help raise money to fight back! The hope is to raise around $48,000 and bring the campus together for a very important cause. In honor of the Olympics, the theme this year is “One World, One Fight.”
PLU's Relay For Life will be held April 30-May 1. The event will start at 6pm the evening of the 30th and go until noon on the 1st. There will be a Survivor Lap to start the event around 6:30pm on the 30th followed by a Luminaria Lap around 10pm.
Encourage your student to be part of this amazing event. Each team is picking a country and a sport to represent while walking the track. To create a team, go to the PLU
Relay for Life website and click “Start a Team”. Once a team captain is established, each team member will need to join separately through the
website but instead clicking “Join a Team”.
Other ways you or your student can support PLU Relay for Life:
- Walk in the Survivor Lap! Cancer survivors and caregivers are encouraged to join the event and participate in the very first lap of the relay; it would be a huge honor to have you with us! Please e-mail plurelay@plu.edu if you would like to participate.
- Sponsor PLU’s Relay through monetary or in-kind donations. Please email plurelay@plu.edu for more information about sponsorship opportunities.
- Make a donation! You can donate to the American Cancer Society through PLU’s Relay for Life website. You may either make a general donation or donate to a specific team.
