Dining Services | Parents Handbook

Fall 2007 will unveil the newly remodeled dining facility in the University Center building. The new facility will feature four main stations offering a wide variety of selections including grilled burgers, fresh pizza and pasta, made-to-order deli sandwiches and salads and unique global dishes. You can also expect to see a make-your-own-waffle station, a full salad bar, soups, and desserts among the offerings.

Dining and Culinary Services is proudly owned and operated by Pacific Lutheran University and provides a wide variety of services for students, faculty, staff and the community. In addition to our new state of the art dining facility, PLU Dining and Culinary Services operates a brand new convenience store, Catering Services, and numerous campus dining facilities. Please check our website at www.plu.edu/~dining/ to see some of our exciting new changes and additions for Fall 2007.

With the exception of South Hall residents, students living on campus must enroll in one of five meal plan packages. Each of the meal plans includes seven all-you-care-to-eat meals per week (Sunday Brunch & dinners from Sunday to Friday) in addition to varying amounts of declining balance Dining Dollars. The Flex plan offers just seven all-you-care-to-eat meals per term in addition to declining balance Dining Dollars. Off-campus and South Hall residents are not required to purchase a meal plan, but are encouraged to participate in any of the five plans.

The Send a Smile Gift Program is designed for you to send a care package to the student you miss. Visit our website www.plu.edu/~dining/gift.htm to find a special way to let your Lute know they are loved and thought of often. We’ll deliver directly to your on-campus student’s residence.
