Activity at PLU | Parents Handbook

A major component of the student experience occurs outside the classroom.  Getting involved in an activity or organization is an excellent way to compliment the classroom experience.  PLU has a multitude of opportunity for students to get involved in the life of the campus.  Getting involved on campus not only guarantees your student will make fond memories, it will also help him or her gain practical experience through leadership roles and team involvement. Student government, media, athletics, drama, music groups and student clubs are samples of ways to get involved and meet other new students.  First year students have the opportunity to reflect on vocation through the EXPLORE! retreat, a weekend experience centered on serving the world in a meaningful way (Jan 11-12, 2008). A complete list of organizations and how to contact them is available online at www.plu.edu/~sil/
