You can donate to a current team, let us know about survivors you know that would like to participate in the survivors lap, or just spread the word to anybody you know about the event.
Volunteer, sign up to walk in the Survivor Lap, or contact PLU's Relay For Life Committee.

History of Relay For Life

Relay For Life is the nationwide signature activity for the American Cancer Society. All functions of the ACS are represented at the Relay, including fundraising, community cancer awareness, advocacy, and cancer control activities.

Relay For Life is an event that raises money to fight cancer and raise awareness of cancer in our community! Across America, there were over 4300 Relay for Life events in 2003! This team event has families, schools, companies, hospitals, and other community groups create teams of 8 to 15 people who take turns walking around a track all night to raise money to fight cancer.

You need not be a runner or even a walker to participate in Relay. The common theme of Relay, dating back to Dr. Klatt's first efforts, is to have members of teams continuously walking, running or rolling around a track for 12 or 24 hours, to honor those who are surviving cancer, those who have died from it, and the efforts of all who fight it. Participation is open to people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities.
