Simon Sung graduated in 1990 from the University of Washington with a B.F.A. in Graphic Design and an B.A. in English Literature. During his tenure in the design field he has worked for various clients including Simon and Schuster, Random House, Crown, Disney, Chronicle Books, Starbucks, and the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown.
Debbie Jenkins has been providing customer services to the campus community for over 19 years. She began working in the print shop as the customer services representative/bindery technician in 1987. In early 1997 she assumed the administrative assistant/copier coordinator position, and she has been director of printing since 2005.
Julie Winters joined the staff in 2005 as the customer service representative. Julie is no stranger to PLU. She previously worked in facilities management and the bookstore. She has always enjoyed working in the print shop atmosphere. Before coming to PLU, she worked in customer service and operated a press producing thousands of checks per day.
Scott Beilke joined the PLU print shop staff shortly after
receiving his certification for offset reprographics operator from
Clover Park Vocational School in 1992. For nearly 12 years as
reprographics operator, he operated and maintained the equipment in the
Copy Center. Scott was promoted to pre-press specialist in the graphics department
in 2004.
Kelly Roper has been working in the print and copy business
for close to 15 years now getting her start at a blueprinting place in
Bellingham, which is where she is originally from. She has a background
in art and a degree in Zoology. Kelly joined us in April 2007 as
the Reprographic Digital Specialist for the Copy Center.
Steve Skramstad has been a designer and illustrator for over 40 years. He sold his first watercolor painting when he was just 13 years old. He holds B.F.A. degree and B.S. degrees. He joined our graphics department in 2002 as a pre-press specialist.
Larry Barnes has been in the postal services industry for 16 years. He came to PLU in 1999 as the supervisor for Mail Services. Larry and his three staff members are responsible for the distribution and processing of mail for the campus community and maintenance of the warehouse inventory.
Patsy Carlson joined the Mail Services team in May 2007 as
the Senior Mail Clerk Assistant. She enjoys traveling, playing golf,
and muscle cars. She was a nanny and cook for 10 years assistanting in
raising two children; she has raised six boys of her own and now has
four grandchildren. Patsy has been a welcomed addition to our
staff.
Randall Self joined the Mail Services team in Spring 2007. He
is native to Pierce County and loves the PLU community. Randall is a
Certified Electronics Technician specializing in radio communications.
He came to work at PLU as an entry-level employee with hopes of
advancing into electronics here on campus.
David Osby is on retired reserve after serving 20 years in the military. He also has 15 years of postal services experience and is a welcomed addition to the Mail Services staff. David joined us in 2005 as a mail clerk.
