Research
I am interested in children's and adolescents' socialization
across different cultural contexts. My current research focuses
on adolescents' work socialization and identity development
among ethnic minority groups, and Asians and Asian Americans in particular.
I am also interested in how adolescents make the transition from school
to work in different societies and how this transition may influence areas in
adult life such as career and family formation. As part of this line of
research,
currently, I have been studying adolescents' conceptualization of adulthood
in the U.S. and Japan.
