Kristin Plaehn - Registrar

Kristin Plaehn received her BA in Economics and
Political Science from Texas Lutheran University and her MA in
International Relations from the University of Denver's Graduate School
of International Studies. For the past ten years, Kristin has worked as
the registrar at Texas Lutheran University and also as an adjunct
faculty member in the political science department. Prior to that
position, she served for six years as a Foreign Service Officer of the

Susan J.F. Johnson - Summer Sessions

Susan J.F. Johnson joined the Office of the Registrar as the Summer Sessions Coordinator in July 2004. She originally
hails from Washington, D.C. and is glad to now call Washington State
her home. Susan works with the Educational Policies Committee, coordinates the summer sessions, and is responsible for the catalog. Susan has now On August 12, 2007, sUSAn celebrated her first anniversary with her husband, Thomas. They are the proud "parents" of Max, a dachshund/poodle, and Griffin, Tsih zhu mix, who keep sUSAn and Tommy busy.

Sarah Sanders - Scheduling Coordinator

Sarah joined the Registrar's Office as Scheduling Coordinator in 2008. A graduate of PLU, Sarah received a B.A.C. in Communication and minors in Latin, Psychology and Religion. As Scheduling Coordinator, Sarah handles scheduling and maintenance of academic courses and academic rooms, as well as management of the waitlist, publication of the semestral Class Schedule, and maintenance and publication of the transfer credit equivalency guides. In the future, Sarah would like to earn her Ph.D. in Conflict Management/Diplomacy and work in inter-faith conflict.

Kelly Gaspar Poth -
Graduation Administrator

Kelly Gaspar Poth joined the Office of the Registrar as the Graduation Evaluator in June 2005. She has a BBA in
Business Administration and a BA in Spanish from PLU as well as a MBA
from Washington State University. As the administrator in charge of
graduation, she is the person to contact regarding graduation
participation and the awarding of degrees. Prior to joining the PLU
team, she worked in marketing for Six Flags Theme Parks.

Joann Nelson - Records Coordinator

Joann Nelson has been at PLU since 1998. As Records Coordinator, she is
the person to contact about registration problems, questions about
transcripts, independent study cards, credit by exam, study abroad
grades, incomplete contracts, and grades. She earned her BS from Florida International University in Miami in 1986.
Before coming to PLU she worked for the State of Idaho Department of
Health and Welfare.

Beth Crippen - Evaluations Administrator

Beth previously worked for six years as the certification officer in the School of Education maintaining program files for all students earning a Washington State teaching certificate. Beth recently earned a Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology from PLU and has a son who currently attends PLU. As an Evaluations Administrator, she is
responsible for evaluating credits of students presently attending and
applying to PLU. She may also evaluate CLEP, International
Baccalaureate, Advanced Placement®,
international credits, and transfer credits taken by current PLU
students. Beth performs
progress checks of general university requirements and provides
guidance about academic options and confirms progress toward completion
of general university requirements. Other duties include assisting in
the academic review of students who have achieved junior status/applied
for graduation, determining the course equivalencies between PLU and
other institutions, maintaining the exception to academic requirements
database, and providing backup to the Scheduling Coordinator.

Kevin A. Berg - Evaluations Administrator
253.535.7890 - bergka@plu.edu Kevin began at PLU in June 2005. As an Evaluations Administrator, he is responsible for evaluating credits of current and incoming students. This includes high school, college, international, military, Advanced Placement^® , CLEP, International Baccalaureate, and transfer credits taken by PLU students. Kevin also helps to maintain PLU’s degree audit system – CAPP, is involved in the junior year academic review process, and assists with registration. He graduated with an MBA from PLU in 2008, and has a BA in International Business and Marketing from Washington State University.
