Graduate
and priority group (Study Away, and special needs) students
register for courses on
the first day of registration for the upcoming terms. Next,
registration times are assigned, in descending order, for other
continuing students based on the number of completed credit hours on a student's transcript. Registration times are available by logging into Banner Web, selecting Student Services & Financial Aid, selecting Registration, and finally selecting Check Your Registration Status.
With the exception of first-year and transfer students (see description immediately below), students register for their courses through Banner Web. Students with less than 60 credit hours on their transcript must consult with their academic advisor to recieve their numeric pass-code which will allow them to register for courses on Banner Web.
First-year students (those who are beginning school) and transfer students must meet with a counselor from the Academic Advising Office either in person or over the phone. Students will be notified by mail of the dates at which they may call the office to register for courses. As Banner Web is not yet available to these students until after they begin their first at PLU, all registration activity is done through the Academic Advising Office.
Some restrictions apply to registration, such as medical holds, academic holds, financial holds, and so on. A student can check holds Banner Web. For a complete listing and description of holds, see the Class Schedule booklet. The booklet is available at most locations but primarily at the Student Services Center in the Administration Building.
Waitlisting cannot be done through Banner Web. A completed hard-copy of the Waitlist Form must be submitted to the Student Services Center for processing. Forms are available from the Student Services Center. Up to two classes may be waitlisted per semester. Students waitlisted below 3rd or 4th place are strongly advised to register for a substitute class, as it is unlikely they will get into the class for which they are waitlisted. The Office of the Registrar will move students (in order of who filed for waitlisting earliest) from the waitlist into closed classes as seats become available up until two weeks before the beginning of the term. Students still on the waitlist after that must attend the first class session and request the instructor's signature on an Add/Drop Form to be granted a place in the class. This completed form must then be submitted to the Student Services Center before the term's Add/Drop deadline. Click here for the waitlist form.
The current class schedule for each term may be viewed on-line in both print (PDF) and interactive formats. The PDF format displays the schedule as it appears int he catalog and is updated weekly to reflect the most current changes.
The dynamic, interactive format is located on Banner Web and will give the most recent course available information.
