Grade Options


The following are faculty approved Pacific Lutheran University grading options that are calculated in the GPA:

        • A   (4.00)
        • A-  (3.67)
        • B+ (3.33)
        • B   (3.00)
        • B-  (2.67)
        • C+ (2.33)
    • C   (2.00)
    • C-  (1.67)
    • D+ (1.33)
    • D   (1.00)
    • D-  (0.67)
    • E    (0.00) - failing grade

The following grades are not used in calculating grade point averages. No grade points are earned under these designations:

    • Pass/Fail: P or F (only for courses set up with the pass/fail grade mode)
    • Incomplete: I
    • In Progress: IP (only for certain courses)
    • Audit: AU
