courses sometimes fulfill a general university requirement.
They
may be offered by the department no more than two times.
Often,
experimental courses become part of the permanent curriculum after the
initial two offerings based upon the success of the course.
The purpose of special topics is to provide students with new,
one-time, and developing courses not yet available in the regular
curriculum.
