PLU is a place where students are encouraged to think about their place in this world—beyond a standard education of books and tests, PLU students explore what their wild hopes are in the world and how their lives will impact a global society. Since 1990 I’ve been a part of this PLU culture. In these years, not only have I grown to understand more of what this means personally, but have interacted with people from all over the city, state, country and globe— people who share a passion for education and the role education plays in our world today and the implications today has upon tomorrow. This site is an introduction to my personal motivations for doing the work I do and spending my time at PLU. You’ll also find what one of my dear PhD friends calls, “Monica’s Bits of Wisdom.” My ponderings are here for Stephanie and anyone else who cares to read them, maybe they will make some sense to you too. |
