Model-T Gods
I was created on the assembly line
amidst clamoring machines
and whirring dials
by gods with hard names
and calloused hands
in work-men’s overalls
who took their lunch breaks

precisely at noon,
bemoaning,
over thermos warmed coffee
and stale donuts,
the trouble their creations would cause
when they rolled, still hot,
off the assembly line
