| In December 1993, a tradition was begun at the SCC with the first annual Nordic Christmas Fest. Originally called Julefest, this fabulous event draws huge crowds who enjoy coming together to relax, enjoy delicious food, and marvelous entertainment. The evening begins with the traditional glass of gløgg, followed by a sumptuous buffet dinner featuring Nordic dishes such as pickled herring, port liver pâté, cucumber salad, laks (Norwegian baked salmon), köttbullar (Swedish meatballs), fyldt flskesteg (Danish fruit-stuffed pork roast), rødkål (red cabbage), surkål (sweet and sour cabbage), brúnadarkartöflur (Icelandic caramelized potatoes), and lanttulaatikko (Finnish rutabaga casserole). |
