This First Year Handbook is designed to give you an overview of your academic life at PLU during your first year of college. You are obviously aware that this is a time of transition and change. Our goal is to help you make this transition as smoothly as possible. The handbook addresses issues which are common to all first-year students; provides information to help you register for courses and know what to expect in your first academic semester; give you some tools to begin the challenging process of selecting a core and ultimately picking a major; and identify places where you can get more information. This handbook is only a starting point. Feel free to access the websites that are listed or call or visit in person the offices which will help you meet your needs.
