NORW 202 Intermediate Norwegian
This fourth semester Norwegian course develops an intermediate command
of the language while further acquainting students with Norwegian
culture. It is the second part of a two-semester Intermediate Norwegian
sequence designed to enable students to do the following:
- Read and understand authentic Norwegian texts like short newspaper and magazine articles and simple bokmål novels;
- Understand clearly articulated native speakers on a variety of everyday topics;
- Express personal opinions and discuss a variety of topics in intermediate-level Norwegian;
- Develop an introductory ability to read nynorsk;
- Develop an overview of the major Norwegian dialect groups;
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of Norwegian grammar; and
- Demonstrate a broad familiarity with Norwegian culture, history,
and society, and with Norwegian views of America and American cultures.
