This course deals with conversation and composition writing in advanced
Norwegian. In order to have something to write and speak about,
we will read a number of Norwegian texts. This is also, of
course, an excellent way to learn new vocabulary and language usage
forms.
Our texts will be written in bokmål, nynorsk, and the older riksmål. We will also do some shorter in-class work on landsmål,
Swedish, and Danish. The goal will be to create a broad and adaptive
comprehensive strategy that will enable you to function in the often
polyphonic world of Scandinavian speech and letters.
