PLU's High School Chamber Music Workshop is
an opportunity for High School Chamber Music groups around Washington and Oregon to
receive an all day coaching experience with PLU's music faculty,
culminating in a public recital in PLU's magnificent Lagerquist Concert
Hall. Participation in the program is open to the following
instrumental areas: violin, viola, 'cello, bass, harp, flute, oboe,
clarinet, bassoon, horn, trumpet, trombone, euphonium, tuba and piano.
The faculty is especially seeking pre-established and pre-reheased
string quartets, woodwind quintets, and brass quintets that may be
preparing for solo performances as well as solo and ensmble contests.
Members
of the PLU Music Faculty and PLU's three resident ensembles, the Camas
Wind Quintet, the Lyric Brass Quintet, and the Regency String Quartet,
will coach students and prepare them for the evening's
performance. Members of the PLU faculty and PLU students will
also take part in the performance.Dinner is provided as part of the experience, as well as a campus tour (including a tour of the organ loft in Lagerquist). A recording of the concert will be made and sent to participating groups as an archive of the experience.

a check made out to "Pacific Lutheran University Music Department" for
$130.00 per ensemble, and mailed to:

Please note spaces in the workshop are limited and will be treated on a first come/first serve basis.

PLU FACULTY ENSEMBLES
Students applying to the program are encouraged to hear faculty ensembles on campus. The Camas Wind Quintet, Lyric Brass Quintet, and Regency String Quartet all perform each semester in Lagerquist Concert Hall.
All performances ar at 8 p.m. in Lagerquist Hall and free to high school students with a student I.D.
