Volleyball Camp June 29-July 2 or July 6-9 9 am to 4 pm Grades 7-12, $200 per camper
Softball Camp July 6-10 or July 13-17 9 am to 4 pm Ages 10-18, $100 per camper
Track and Field Camp August 3-6 10 am to 3 pm Ages 6-18, $100 per camper
Football Camp July 13-16 9 am to 12 pm Camp is geared to defensive skills training; $80 per camper
Women's Soccer Camp July 13-16 9 am to 4 pm Ages 11-14; $200 per camper if register before June 1; after June 1, $225 per camper
Ages 7-10 5:30 to 7:30 pm $100 per camper if register before June 1; after June 1, $125 per camper

education options for educators that allow teachers to earn clock
hours while they develop as professionals. Continuing education opportunities
during the summer include: Workshops and seminars addressing topics

at PLU offers countless activities and events for the whole family.
From outdoor concerts and sport camps to educational workshops and conferences,
everyone is sure to find many stimulating opportunities to meet their
summertime needs.
Fruit Festivals
11:30 am to 1 p.m., Red Square
A
summer exclusive, PLU's fruit festivals are held once a month in Red
Square. Students, faculty, family, and friends enjoy fresh fruit,
raspberry ice cream, and lively entertainment.
The Offices of Summer Sessions, Conferences & Events, and Dining
Services are pleased to co-sponsor the three festivals that celebrate a
variety of summer fruit harvests. Food is free with a valid LuteCard,
although food may be purchased for $2.50. All fruit festivals are from 11:30 am - 1 pm.

Jazz Under the Star Concerts - the 10th Anniversary
Summer is the perfect time for concerts and other performances outside
on Red Square or in the Mary Baker Russell (MBR) Amphitheater.

Stop by the University Gallery in Ingram Hall and browse anytime between
9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday-Friday. The gallery's website
features current and past art.
KPLU Summer Activities
PLU is home to one of National Public Radio's gems, KPLU 88.5FM. Recognized
for its programming excellence, KPLU is one of the nation's leading
public radio stations offering regular jazz shows alongside NPR's
regular coverage of national and international news. KPLU also offers
its own unique coverage of northwest events and jazz. The station's

its exclusive, award-winning mix of jazz and blues twenty-four hours
a day to the world.
KPLU again offers, as a growing summer tradition, the Jazz & Blues
Cruise Series on Sunday mornings in Seattle, Washington. These cruises
bring together the best of the Pacific Northwest into one wonderful
event: great music, food, views, and all at a great price. All proceeds
generated benefit the station. Group rates are available, but book

RECREATIONAL
FACILITIES
PLU offers
a broad variety of recreational opportunities for summer students. Exceptional
facilities are available for most popular sports and pastimes! Free
use of the Names Fitness Center, Olson Auditorium and the Swimming Pool
is available when presenting your LuteCard. Reservation of racquetball/squash
courts is made by calling (253) 535-7365. Schedules for use of all recreational
facilities are available in the School of Physical Education office
in Olson Auditorium.
Names Fitness Center contains the latest in weight
training and other conditioning/fitness equipment, including an indoor

Swimming Pool offers a swimming area, diving pool, sunbathing
area, locker and dressing rooms. Swim lessons are available for ages

Olson Auditorium is a multipurpose facility featuring a hardwood
gymnasium floor and an Astroturf fieldhouse. Activities include basketball,
volleyball, badminton, handball, racquetball, and squash. Click

University Golf Course is a 2,770 yard, nine-hole, par 35 layout
with a reduced fee schedule for students. Call (253) 535-7393 or visit

Off-Campus Recreation
Numerous recreational opportunities exist close to the campus.
Spanaway Park, located by Lake Spanaway, two miles south of campus,
features canoe, rowboat and paddle boat rentals in addition to swimming,
horseshoes, picnic facilities, golf and fishing. The public Spanaway
Golf Course is a beautiful championship course with well-kept fairways,
greens and traps. Sprinker Recreation Center, also located two miles
south of campus, has excellent facilities for tennis, track and field,
softball, baseball, basketball, broom hockey, racquetball, and an ice
skating arena. Sprinker also has a sun-bathing area, and locker and
