Eleventh Annual High School Orchestra Invitational, Saturday October 13, Noon-7 pm, Lagerquist Hall
High
school orchestras from throughout the region will perform on the
Largerquist stage and receive comments from guest clinician, Roupen Shakarian. The PLU Symphony Orchestra will also play a
special 3 pm performance (Jeffrey Bell-Hanson, conductor).
This event is free and open to the public. No Tickets Needed.
Orchestra Series I: Tuesday October 16, 8 pm, Lagerquist Hall
This
concert features special guest artists Willa and William Doppmann, pianists. They will perform double-piano concertos by Mozart and Poulenc with the USO. Also on the program is Ludwig van Beethoven's Symphony No. 7. Jeffrey Bell-Hanson, conductor.
Orchestra Series II: Tuesday, November 13, 8 pm, Lagerquist Hall
Program to include Brahms' Serenade No. 2 in A and music from Sparticus by Khachaturian. Jeffrey Bell-Hanson, conductor.
Rejoice!: PLU's popular Christmas Concert, Sunday December 2, 4 pm, Olson Auditorium
This annual favorite features the Choir of the West, the
University Chorale and members of the University Symphony Orchestra.

Orchestra Series III: Student Soloists, Tuesday March 18, 8 pm, Lagerquist Hall
Featuring the winners of the fall 2007 Student Soloists Audition.

Orchestra Series IV: Tuesday May 6, 8 pm, Lagerquist Hall
Our final concert will feature professor Richard Treat, 'cello, performing Shostakovich's Concerto No. 1 for 'Cello and Orchestra (Opus 107). Jeffrey Bell-Hanson, conductor. Program will include the world premiere of George Hoyt's Symphony No. 1. (Originally scheduled for March.)
