PLU Orchestra Invitational

Fourteenth Annual
PLU Orchestra Invitational

The Annual PLU Orchestra Invitational was first conceived by Maestro Jerry Kracht as a day of musical sharing for the Northwest orchestra community. It offers high school orchestras from our region the opportunity to perform early in the season in the warm, generous acoustic of PLU's beautiful Lagerquist Concert Hall.

With the addition in 2004 of a clinician offering comments to each ensemble, the invitational has become an even more valuable learning opportunity for participants. Our first clinician was Maestro Kracht.

This year a new element will be added with a special performance by the Regency String Quartet. Quartet members are all faculty at PLU. See the String Studies Website for more information.

Invitational Participants Receive

  • A 30-40 minute performance on the Lagerquist stage
  • A CD recording of the performance
  • Comments from our guest clinician
  • The opportunity to have a DVD recording of the performance for a small fee
  • A special performance by the PLU Symphony Orchestra
  • Free admission for students to all performances throughout the day
