REHEARSAL SCHEDULE

The University Symphony Orchestra rehearses twice weekly on Monday and Thursday evenings from 7:15 om to 9:45 pm. Attendance at both rehearsals is required for all student members. Community members arfe expected to attend at least one of these rehearsals, and are welcome at all rehearsals.

USO TOUR INFORMATION

People are beginning to ask, as they plan their academic schedules for the coming semesters and years, about the tour opportunities for the USO. Here is the basic info about upcoming tours. More detail will be forthcoming as the year closes and during the summer.

May-June 2011
International Tour with the Choir of the West
We are currently discussing possible destinations for this tour. Information will be posted as it becomes available.

Concerts will include some choral orchestra works, but also a full program of orchestra alone.

January 2010
Domestic Tour (USO only) According to the current directional rotation, the USO or KammerMusikk will go north during this tour. If you live in the Central or North Puget Sound area or in British Columbia, and would like to sponsor or help promote a concert, please contact Pamela Deacon, Coordinator of Performance and Outreach.

USO TO PREMIERE Symphony No. 1 BY GEORGE HOYT

The University Symphony Orchestra will play the world premiere performance of Northwest composer, George Hoyt's Symphony No. 1 on Tuesday May 6 at 8 pm in Lagerquist Concert Hall at PLU.

Also on the program is the Cello Concerto No. 1 by Dmitri Shostakovich. The feaured soloist will be PLU 'cello teacher, Richard Treat.
