A Nurse in the Making"Nursing is an art: and if it is to be made an art, it requires an exclusive devotion as hard a preparation as any painter's or sculptor's work; for what is having to do with dead canvas or dead marble, compared with having to do with the living body, the temple of God's spirit? It is one of the Fine Arts: I had almost said, the finest of Fine Arts." ~ Florence Nightengale |

How I Came To Nursing...
Future Goals and Aspirations Nursing opens so many doors in the real world. As I continue to learn more about nursing and myself, my goals and aspirations for the future are forming and evolving. Once I graduate, I plan to work in a hospital for two to three years to gain experience and become comfortable with my skills and critical thinking. After getting a few years of experience under my belt, I hope to return to school to obtain a Master's Degree and am currently considering pursuing nursing education. One thing that is so amazing about nursing is that it there are so many different opportunities for involvement and growth. There are many areas of nursing that I enjoy and hope to pursue in the future, ranging from Emergency Services to Neonatal Intensive Care. I also plan to use my nursing skills on a global level by becoming involved in short-term mission trips through my local church. There are many opportunities available to nurses in the world today. I am excited to begin my career as a nurse and to see what opportunities lie ahead of me |
Other Resources
General Information I was born and raised in the Seattle area and have lived there all of my life. I went to Stadium High School and am currently attending Pacific Lutheran University. Besides nursing, I love to sing and act, and I have participated in several choirs and musicals over the years. I also enjoy the outdoors and playing my guitar. Family, friends, and spirituality are some of the most important things in my life. I look forward to incorporating my love for others and my talents and skills into my career as a nurse. |
