Volunteer in:
  • The Family Learning Center: providing adults and youth with literacy skills.
  • GED preparation classes.
  • Citizenship/ Naturalization Classes : help students pass the citizenship test.
  • Adult Basic Education: Helps job-seeking individuals improve their math skills and/or reading and writing in Spanish.
  • After School Tutoring Program: Organize fun activities, provide snacks, and advocate for middle and high school students and parents within the school system.
Tutors with the following qualities are preferred:
  • Bilingual speaking (English/Spanish)
  • Previous tutoring experience
  • Friendly, outgoing, and committed
  • Culturally sensitive

Indochinese Cultural and Service Center

Help with ESL programs, economic independence training, senior nutrition programs, the South East Asian Food Bank, case management, interpreting/translation, teen talk line, youth tobacco and cessation, youth/family services, and cultural awareness & education.

International Rescue Committee

Be an ESL tutor, help out with administrative tasks, deliver donations, help refugees look for a job, or assist with special events.
