Citizens for a Healthy Bay

Opportunities:
  • Gog-le-hi-te Garbage Grab: Each Earth Day weekend volunteers gather to clean up the Gog-le-hi-te Wetland in Tacoma’s tide flats.
  • Tide flats tree planting: Plant on and refurbish the Tacoma tide flats.
  • Working Boats: During the last weekend of September during Maritime Festival each year.
  • Bay Days: Annual environmental information fair for the community

Coastal Clubhouse

Interact with mental health patients. Help with regular clubhouse activities: arts and crafts, field trips/outings, movie days, lawn mowing, D.O.T. Highway Cleanup, and educational opportunities.

Help with yard maintenance, work in the garden, or at the farm.

Helping Hand House

Volunteer with this organization determined to end homelessness. Help out doing office maintenance, unit cleanup and restocking, donation pick up and delivery, garbage removal, yard work, clerical assistance and administrative, carpet cleaning, plumbing, electric work, painting, web/data base maintenance, video development, recognition assistant.

Help with landscaping, maintenance, and upkeep of the beautiful Lakewold Gardens, or volunteer to set up and assist with special events.
