Meet the Staff:

Jonathan GroveJonathan Grove, Men Against Violence Project Coordinator

grovejk@plu.edu

I'm excited to be supporting PLU's Men Against Violence Project. This project aims to raise men's awareness of issues around domestic violence and sexual assault. The goal is not simply to make men aware, but to empower them to speak out against actions and beliefs that support these social issues. Men of all backgrounds need to end our collective silence and stand up to be counted with the majority of men who will not condone or support gendered violence, or the sexist beliefs that sustain it.

Our Women's Center is a little oasis, offering everything from comfy couches to tea to great reading material. It's a wonderful welcoming space and I love working here. I value the opportunity to work for an organization devoted to furthering women's empowerment and gender equity. I invite everyone to stop by and introduce yourself and enjoy your center!

Danielle Krogh
Danielle Krogh, Voices Against Violence Social Work Intern

womencen@plu.edu

In my role, I help plan, implement, and   evaluate our programs on intimate partner violence. While this internship fulfills my Social Work practicum requirement, it also gives me a chance to further explore my  interests in issues primarily affecting women. My previous work experience (and passion!) is based in eating disorders  awareness, but I am excited to try something new this year!

As a Victim Advocate for the Voices Against Violence project, I help students who have experienced intimate partner violence, sexual assault or stalking. I provide resource referrals, emotional support, and a safe place to talk. You will see me involved in various educational and awareness events on campus. Feel free to stop by and chat anytime!

Kasey Zink
Kasey Zink, Program Assistant
253.535.8759
womencen@plu.edu

I coordinate events like "Love Your Body day," a series of   programs targeting Women's Health issues, and Women's History Month. I will also be developing a  campaign to educate students about why there is a need for a Women's Center on    campus. I am double-majoring in physical education and women/gender studies, so my passion really lies in helping women to be as happy and healthy as possible. I hope that everyone has a chance to stop by and check out the Women's Center.
