NOTES
To Bethlehem is a setting of seven poems published in the early 20th century
in a variety of popular journals and magazines. Their traditional technique makes them very appropriate
for carol setting, but their charming and often surprising imagery makes them fresh and evocative.
They may be performed in their entirety or separately. The organ part is kept simple so that it can
be performed on an electronic keyboard if no pipe organ is available in the performance venue.
