Elegy and Celebration

Two movements for young string orchestra
Commissioned in 2002 for Karla Timmerman Epperson and the Tacoma String Philharmonic
(Tacoma Youth Symphony Organization, Tacoma, Washington)
Duration: 8min.

NOTES
Elegy and Celebration was written in memorial and in celebration of the life of a musician. Elegy begins sadly but discovers a quiet noble tune that develops in a series of variations. Celebration is a joyous neo-baroque movement with much imitation between the voices.
